Fundraiser auction for the 2017 Nebraska Honey Queen

Shelby Kittle, our 2017 Nebraska Honey Queen, has donated her illustration to us.  She won best of show in the youth visual arts at the 2017 Nebraska State Fair Bee Culture Division.  We will be auctioning it off to the highest bidder, on eBay.  All funds will go directly to the Nebraska Beekeepers honey Queen Program.

NBA October Meeting – Overwintering your bees

We have our October Meeting planned and we want to see you there!d1173912-6c29-40fc-aeb5-ac10edeaa9d4

When: Sunday Oct 9th 1:00pm

Where: Charlie Simonds apiary – Honey Bee World, 12805 Rokeby Road, Bennet, NE. It is just south of Highway 2 between 120th and 134th Streets Southeast of Lincoln.

What: Charlie will be showing us best practices for overwintering your bee hives. Bring your protective equipment as we will be around live hives.

*Attn Scholarship students and new beekeepers**   this is a great learning experience for you as you get ready to put your hives away for winter. Having strong colonies going into winter sets you up for next year!

As always, these events are also open to the public. If you have a friend who would like to come, forward them this email or bring them along!
