Join us on Tuesday, July 21, 2020, beginning at 7:30 pm for our monthly beekeeping Webinar with artist and beekeeper Megan Vetter will share the basics of wax resist and how you can create batik art with your bees wax and cold water dye.

The Nebraska Beekeepers Association holds monthly webinars for current NBA members (typically) on the second Tuesday of each month to help educate and connect current, new, and potential beekeepers. Webinars provide seasonal reminders and NBA updates beginning at 7:30 pm followed by special guest speakers. Webinars can be join (and watched) online or by phone.

January 2018 Annual Meeting

Please join us in Seward, January 21st for the Annual Meeting!

When:  Sunday January 21st, 2018  from 1pm-5pm
Where:  Seward Civic center  616 Bradford St, Seward, NE 68434
What:  Social hour, Annual Meeting, election of officers, Beekeeper of the Year and 2017 Scholarship presentations

The meeting will be held at the Seward Civic Center, beginning at 1pm. Here is a brief agenda:
1:00 pm Snacks/hors d’oeuvres and socialize
2:00 pm Annual Meeting
2:15 pm 2017 Scholarship student presentations
4:30 pm 2018 Scholarship student introductions
5:00 pm Closing remarks

We will also have information on 2018 Beginning and Advanced Beekeeping workshops taught by the UNL Bee Lab as well as upcoming meetings and build days.  If you know someone who is interested in getting into beekeeping, feel free to invite them and forward them this email.  All of our meetings are open to the public!

Fundraiser auction for the 2017 Nebraska Honey Queen

Shelby Kittle, our 2017 Nebraska Honey Queen, has donated her illustration to us.  She won best of show in the youth visual arts at the 2017 Nebraska State Fair Bee Culture Division.  We will be auctioning it off to the highest bidder, on eBay.  All funds will go directly to the Nebraska Beekeepers honey Queen Program.

State Fair Volunteers Needed!!

Calling all volunteers!!
We are looking to fill our volunteer shifts at our booth during the State Fair
Shifts are 9 am- 3 pm  and 3 pm- 9 pm daily
Volunteering a full shift gets you admission into the fair, a free ice cream at the end of your shift and the knowledge you are
  • Helping to recruit future beekeepers,
  • Spreading the knowledge of how beekeeping/bees are vital to our lives,
  • Help our one and only fundraiser of the year for our scholarship program
